CONFIGURED AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL STORAGE BUILDING(s)

CLASSIFICATION: H2 Occupancy.

SECONDARY CONTAINMENT: Minimum of 25% designed storage capacity in liquids.

CODE COMPLIANCE: Meet or exceed latest edition of applicable UBC, SBC, BOCA National Building Codes; NFPA, UFC, EPA, NEC, OSHA codes and regulation with respect to compliance in design.

MATERIALS and WORKMANSHIP: Meets or exceeds all applicable ANSI, AWS, AISC, US Product, ASTM standards regarding materials and workmanship.

QUALITY ASSURANCE: Engineering, production capability, testing and inspection program approved by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

APPROVAL: 3rd Party Listed - Warnock Hersey listed, all standard models.

CONSTRUCTION: All welded steel structural support and sump; Fire-rated buildings use UL two (2) or four (4) Hour Fire-rated design construction for walls, sump walls and ceiling/roof; Non-Fire-rated buildings use welded steel construction.

  • FLOOR 250 PSF;
  • INTERNAL PRESSURE 100 PSF;
  • EXPLOSION VENTING 20 PSF. (EXPLOSION RELIEF BUILDINGS ONLY)
ELECTRICAL: Approved electrical components are factory installed in accord with manufacturer's directions and wired in accord with the most current National Electric Code. Interior wiring complies with requirements for a Group C or D hazardous material environment, and exterior wiring complies with general-purpose exterior requirements. All wiring is to a Breaker Box provided on the side of the Building. A building grounding system is provided along with internal grounding attachments.
 
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
  • FIRE DOOR(s): 3 hr. labels, (WxH) 5' x 6'8"; double door assembly; w/automatic door closure, keyed lock assembly, door sweep, easily adjustable and replaceable (not welded in place), and commercially available.
  • RAIN SHIELD: Rain shield installed above each door.
  • SUMP: Minimum 6" Deep sump fabricated from welded heavy gauge A569 steel; all seams welded liquid tight; all floor supports and the raised floor must be easily removable and not permanently attached.
CORROSION PROTECTION:
  • Exterior subfloor finish - Exterior commercial grade elastomeric finish on the entire subfloor.
  • Interior finish - Immersion grade 2 part epoxy; white.
  • Exterior finish - Prime coat immersion grade 2 part epoxy; top coat 2 part polyurethane; gloss white.
VENTILATION:
Passive cross floor ventilation except where electro-mechanical ventilation is specified.
AIR VENTS:
  • Exterior Covering - Galvanized rain shield with bug screen.
  • Interior Covering - Louvered cover. (Adjustable on buildings with heating or air conditioning.)
  • Fire Damper - Installed in Fire-rated buildings; curtain type UL listed and approved for use in 2 hour fire-rated buildings, 1.5 hour rated; for use in 4 hour fire-rated buildings, 3 hour rated.
SIGNS:
Building must have a minimum of the following signs:
  • One approved DOT placard and 704M label for each door opening;
  • Approval label of 3rd party nationally recognized testing laboratory;
  • Manufacturers name and telephone number;
  • Label each appliance and control switch.
  • Label all circuit breakers.

INTERIOR GROUNDING:
Each compartment must have interior grounding connections.
BUILDING GROUND:
The building must be supplied with a minimum eight foot grounding rod and connections and wire.
SEISMIC BRACING:

The building must be supplied with seismic tie down brackets, which meets or surpasses code requirements for seismic Zone 4.

OPERATION MANUAL:

The building must arrive with a manual detailing the operation of the building and each piece of equipment, including diagrams and drawings; maintenance schedule; cut sheets for all finishes and equipment provided; maintenance manuals for all equipment including fire suppression system(s), heating and air conditioning equipment; a drawing showing an overview of the building and all its requisite equipment; a drawing showing the structural section of the building; a schematic of the electrical equipment installed; and complete Warranty Statement.

TOUCH UP PAINT:
The building must arrive with touch up paint for the interior finish and for the exterior finish.

WARRANTY: 1 Year std. w/10 years on structural Limited Warranty; a complete Warranty Statement is provided.

Note (1): Dimensions, capacities and weights are nominal and will vary with Optional Features required. Note (2): Double stacking is not allowed with Class 1a and 1b flammable liquids, and certain other hazardous materials; consult with the "authority having jurisdiction."
